For the European subsidy project SKILLS+, the award ceremony of the 10 participating European countries took place online on 8 July 2021 at Farm Molenberg in Burgh-Haamstede, organized by Stichting Kenniscentrum PRO WORK.

The European teams, which consisted of people with a distance to the labor market, competed online for the gold medals in the Catering, Landscaping, ICT, Healthcare and Electrician professions. This took place at National level in Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Turkey and the Netherlands, where the best national teams were selected. Then, in June 2021, the European Championships took place online. Unfortunately not as planned with all participants in the Netherlands, as the Covid-19 circumstances did not yet allow a trip to the Netherlands for all these participants. They thus competed online for the gold medal, with the winners being selected in July 2021 by a team of Dutch experts in each field.

On July 8, 2021, an online award ceremony with all 10 countries was organized by PRO WORK in collaboration with Farm Molenberg and the winners were presented at European level! Bulgaria won the gold medal for Landscaping, Slovenia for Catering, Croatia for Healthcare, Czech Republic for ICT and Belgium for Electrician.

The Netherlands won silver in the Catering category, which was won by Parc Spelderholt from Beekbergen. And the Dutch ICT team from Youth Center de Soos in Burgh-Haamstede won a bronze medal.

New SKILLS+ competitions will hopefully be organized again in 2022-2023, hopefully with even more European countries taking part!
